A Perfectly Simple Holiday Weekend Is Perfect

Sometimes simple simplicity beats exciting just because of who your with. Vacations, holidays, weekends or just weekday evenings are special and memorable because, you get to spend it with someone that makes you laugh, smile and feel good. Luckily for me, that is the case for this Labor Day weekend. Amy was not held hostage in Biloxi by the now forgotten and none too impressive Hurricane Ernesto. Because he headed up the East Coast and fizzled into a plain old storm of rain, Amy was able to make her long and lonely 7 hour commute from the battered state of MS to the beautiful little Utopia we call home...Macon, GA. I didn't do a thing except wait on her arrival. Well, I did talk to her a few times by phone to help break up the monotny of driving.

Since she arrived we have done nothing spectacular. That is the spectacular part too. Sure, it's been spectacular to me or her, but would probably be pretty under-whelming to anyone else. For example, Saturday morning we had coffee and cereal on the sofa while planning our day. I thought that was spectacular. We did a short run and had lunch and beers at Ingleside Village Pizza. We always find that spectacular. Some quick birthday shopping was done at Target right before we went to Cox Capitol Theatre in downtown Macon for a $3 movie. Simple and spectacular! Now, I could have done any of this simple stuff alone or with someone else and it would not have been so great. Because I got to do them with Amy, it was....well, you know...spectacular.

The best part is that it is only Sunday morning and we have still got the rest of the day, afternoon and evening to go. Plus, since it is a holiday weekend, we will have part of tomorrow. But, don't be jealous. Come Tuesday, I'll have to spend regular evenings about the house alone, except for the cat, until Amy comes back to Paradise (okay, that's pushing it) for more simply simple excitement and fun.

Awwww you two are so cute! Glad you can have such good times together despite the long commute.

Hee hee that rhymes. Although not very poetically.
